| Hollywood is a district in Los Angeles that is synonymous with the American Film Industry. Although, Hollywood is still famous for its association with movie studios and stars, much of the movie industry has actually relocated to surrounding areas, though many of the supporting industries, such as editing, effects, props, and post production, still make their home in Hollywood. Hollywood is also home to many historic theaters and hosts the Academy Awards. There is no official boundary of Hollywood but in general, it is bordered on the west by West Hollywood, and on the east by Los Feliz. Hollywood extends northward into the hills of the Santa Monica Mountains and features a creative, diverse cultural population as well as a range of home styles and prices. Hollywood offers from small condos and apartments and well maintained Spanish cottages, to luxury hillside view residences in the Hollywood Hills. |
